What is an exfoliating cleanser, and how does it work?
An exfoliating cleanser is a product designed to release redundant keratinised skin cells that need to be sloughed away from the skin’s surface. Exfoliating scrubs typically contain a blend of gentle exfoliating agents that work by breaking down the intercellular glue that holds the outermost layer of dead skin cells together.
Using a face exfoliator will help prevent pores from clogging and breakouts from forming while improving skin texture and promoting regular cell turnover to maximise product penetration. Once washed away, the skin’s surface will appear smooth, soft and refined.
